Dr. Zulfa is a highly respected educational leader with more than 30 years of experience in public education. A proud alumnus of West High School, he began his career as a teacher at Garces Memorial High School before continuing his work at South High School in 1999.
Throughout his career in the Kern High School District, Dr. Zulfa has served in a variety of impactful leadership roles, including Dean of Instruction at South High School, Assistant Principal of Instruction at Foothill High School, and Principal of South High School beginning in 2009. His leadership at the district level includes serving as Assistant Superintendent of Instruction, Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, and Associate Superintendent of Business.
Dr. Zulfa earned his doctorate from Liberty University in 2015. As Superintendent, he is deeply committed to supporting students and staff while advancing the district’s long-standing tradition of excellence.
