Nicole Powell is an educator with eight years of experience in the Kern High School District, where she has built a strong background in student leadership, engagement, and school culture. Throughout her career, she has coached multiple sports with success, helping student-athletes develop teamwork, resilience, and a drive for excellence both on and off the field. In the classroom, Nicole has taught Leadership, PLUS classes, and Link Crew, focusing on building student connection, belonging, and ownership of their high school experience.
She currently serves as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), where she supports teachers in expanding their instructional practices, stepping outside of their comfort zones, and implementing innovative, high-engagement strategies. Nicole is also a co-creator of the widely attended “Igniting Engagement” professional development, designed to equip educators with practical tools to increase student participation and energy in the classroom.
